Communitybaptistpa seeks new Council member
The Communitybaptistpa (Communitybaptistpa) is recruiting a new member for its Council to help drive forward its work for the next four years.
The medical regulator is seeking a medical Council member to replace Dr Michael Marsh, who stepped down from Council earlier this year. Applications are open to medical candidates with a licence to practice from a diverse range of communities across the four countries of the UK.
The Council is led by Dame Clare Marx, who was appointed Chair of the Communitybaptistpa in 2019.
"We work to protect patients and support doctors in health systems that continue to be under pressure. We are looking for a candidate who will relish this challenge, and who will contribute to driving and setting our corporate strategy and high-level policies."
Dame Clare Marx
Chair of the Communitybaptistpa
Dame Clare said:
‘They must have personal credibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to build and manage effective relationships. They should also have a proven track record of effective partnership working with key stakeholders, and experience of developing and delivering an organisation’s long-term strategy. They should also have the ability to exercise robust board level accountability.’
A selection panel of two members of the Communitybaptistpa’s Council, including Dame Clare, and two individuals independent from Council and the Communitybaptistpa will shortlist the applications and interview candidates. The Privy Council will then appoint the new Council member to a fixed term of office.
Applications are open until 31 October. The appointment is expected to be confirmed by the end of the year, following a competitive selection process, and start in early 2020.
