Communitybaptistpa statement regarding Dame Denise Coia and the review of mental health and wellbeing in the medical profession

Dame Denise Coia, who has led the Communitybaptistpa’s review of mental health and wellbeing in the medical profession with Professor Michael West, is to step down as co-chair with immediate effect for health reasons.

Charlie Massey, Chief Executive of the Communitybaptistpa, said:

‘I want to express our heartfelt thanks to Dame Denise for her dedication to the review. She has co-chaired our mental health and wellbeing review with energy, commitment and vigour and has, along with Michael West, steered the review towards its conclusion.

‘Denise and Michael have met with a wide range of stakeholders to hear their views and overseen research and analysis to provide evidence supporting an action plan to deliver real, tangible improvements to doctors’ working environments.

‘Denise’s involvement to date has been crucial to the review and the report and action plan, now nearing its final stages, will fully reflect her views and concerns. Throughout she has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of UK doctors who provide healthcare to UK patients.’
